Colombia será sede entre el 12 y 18 de septiembre del 2013, de la Tercera Cumbre Mundial de Alcaldes y Mandatarios Africanos y Afrodescendientes, la cual se llevará a cabo en la ciudad de Cali del 12 al 16 de septiembre, y en Cartagena 17 y 18 del mismo mes. .
El encuentro que está gerenciado por la Asociación Nacional de Alcaldes y Gobernadores de Municipios y Departamentos con Población Afrodescendiente, Amunafro y apoyado por la Asociación de Alcaldes Negros de los Estados Unidos, NCBM, tiene como propósito promover el hermanamiento entre ciudades y profundizar en el diálogo político y la cooperación internacional para el desarrollo de la diáspora africana.
Un espacio del cual surgirá una Red Mundial de Mandatarios que impulsará el desarrollo de nuestros pueblos. Una Cumbre que generará la integración económica, cultural, social, académica y espiritual.
Este encuentro permitirá sentirnos más hermanos, más fuertes, para caminar juntos y construir el futuro que todos deseamos.

Students will read the existing literature related to IA and build complex web sites to address issues specific to information and library science based on current best practices. Investigation of political and social issues affecting school libraries on local, state, and national levels. Option to complete fieldwork to broaden personal experience and perspective in the management of school libraries. ILS 604 - Advanced Reference Materials and Services
Specialized reference services and collaborative reference are examined. Evaluation of E-Reference sources, services and systems. Demonstrated competence in reference interview techniques, online searching, development of bibliographic instruction for print and electronic resources. ILS 606 - Advanced Cataloging and Classification
Cataloging of special library materials; new concepts of descriptive and subject cataloging; role of cataloging in public and technical services, metadata and cataloging of digital collection. El próximo 12 de septiembre Cali será sede de la Cumbre Mundial que convoca alcaldes y mandatarios afro descendientes de todo el mundo. Este evento se convierte en el escenario perfecto para el intercambio de experiencias políticas, económicas, sociales y culturales.
Esta tercera versión de la Cumbre busca promover la hermandad en las comunidades afro y profundizar el diálogo político y la cooperación internacional para el desarrollo de la diáspora africana.
Hasta el momento hay confirmados 235 personalidades internacionales y 307 nacionales, entre los que hay congresistas, gobernadores, alcaldes, activistas de derechos humanos y académicos afrodescendientes de África, Estados Unidos y América Latina.
A la Tercera Cumbre Mundial están confirmados personajes de talla mundial como el expresidente de Sudáfrica Thabo Mbeki, la ministra italiana Cecile Kyenge, el científico de la Nasa, Raúl Cuero, o Nozipho January Bardill, miembro del Comité de Naciones Unidas por la eliminación de la discriminación racial, quienes expondrán en la capital del Valle sus opiniones y experiencias en torno al desarrollo económico e inclusión social.
Asimismo, Cali y Cartagena serán las anfitrionas de alcaldes y gobernadores de Sudáfrica, Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Brasil, Honduras, Haití, Ecuador, Perú, Estados Unidos (Michigan, Arkansas, Louisiana, Miami) y Colombia.
También han confirmado su asistencia los alcaldes de: de Dakar (Senegal), Khalifa Ababacar Sall; de Durban (Sudáfrica), James Nxumalo; de Accra, Alfred Vanderpuije; de Belmopán (Belice), Simeon López; y la vicealcaldesa de Salvador, Celia Sacramento. También vendrán Abdou Ouhou Dodo, presidente de la Asociación de Municipios de Tahoua (Nigeria); el alcalde de Marigot (Haití), Jean Myrthil Fifon; los congresistas estadounidenses Gregory W. Meeks (Nueva York), Marc Veasy y Rodney Ellis (Texas).
Esta iniciativa es promovida en Colombia por la Asociación Nacional de Alcaldes de Municipios con Población Afrodescendiente, AMUNAFRO, la Alcaldía De Cali y la Vicepresidencia de la República a través del programa presidencial para la población afrodescendiente.
La III Cumbre busca promover la integración cultural
Cali es la primera ciudad de Latinoamérica dónde se realiza la Cumbre Mundial Afro, la primera se realizó en Nigeria y el tema central fue “el liderazgo para resolver los problemas del desarrollo”. La segunda cumbre se realizó en Senegal donde se la temática principal fue el VIH en zonas urbanas, las estrategias de prevención y la necesidad de acabar con el estigma y la discriminación, enmarcados en el tema central “Gobernabilidad, y Etnicidad para el Desarrollo Económico con Inclusión Social”.
Esta tercera cumbre, cuenta con el respaldo del Gobierno de Colombia, y es liderada por la Asociación de Alcaldes Afroamericanos, NCBM, que aglutina a 678 alcaldes en Estados Unidos, y la Asociación de Alcaldes Afrocolombianos, Amunafro, que agrupa a 215 alcaldes.
El propósito en esta ocasión es profundizar el diálogo político y la cooperación internacional para el desarrollo del pueblo africano y sus diásporas, generando la integración cultural, social, económica,
comercial, deportiva, académica y espiritual.
Al evento se le dará apertura el próximo jueves 12 de septiembre a las 5 p.m en el Centro de Eventos Valle del Pacífico, con la presencia del Presidente de la República Juan Manuel Santos Calderón el Alcalde de Cali, Rodrigo Guerrero Velasco y alcaldes de ciudades capitales, Oscar Gamboa, Director del Programa Presidencial Afrocolombiano, Cecile Kyengue, Ministra Italiana de Integración y Raúl Cuero Científico de la Nasa.
Macro Rueda de Negocios busca formalizar a empresarios afrodescendientes
La primera Macro Rueda de negocios para empresarios afrodescendientes, negros, palenqueros y raizales, se estará realizando en el marco de la Tercera Cumbre de Alcaldes y Mandatarios Afrodescendientes. Este espacio de negocios al que asistirán más de 30 compradores de grandes empresas internacionales busca consolidarse como una plataforma de impulso a la comercialización de productos de empresarios afros, y de igual manera motivarlos a la formalización de sus empresas para lograr el crecimiento y la expansión de las mismas en el escenario nacional y la esfera mundial.
La Macro Rueda tiene 4 escenarios, el primero es el cara a cara entre empresarios, compradores y vendedores con el objetivo de materializar negocios, el segundo escenario es facilitar la formalización de los empresarios, porque van a tener la oportunidad de encontrar allí a los diferentes organismos que le van ayudar a realizar este proceso tales como la Cámara de Comercio, DIAN y El Ministerio de Trabajo, entre otras.
Esto con el propósito de viabilizar la comercialización de sus productos con empresas formales y ganar espacio en el mercado, un tercer escenario lo constituye la agenda académica cuyo objetivo es el de dar a conocer los lineamientos y políticas nacionales referentes a la comercialización de productos y sostenibilidad en el mercado, además de brindar herramientas para la consolidación de las empresas y la búsqueda de nuevos espacios comerciales en el territorio nacional y fuera de él. El cuarto y último escenario está constituido por la muestra y exhibición de los empresarios que participan en el evento.
“Invito a los empresarios para que aprovechen esta oportunidad, es un espacio excepcional que tiene para avanzar en la comercialización de sus bienes y servicios. En el país en el año 2011 a la fecha, se han desarrollado 52 ruedas y macroruedas de negocios y se han generado otras transacciones por el orden de $132 mil millones; han participado más de 5.000 empresarios y ha habido un grupo significativo de compradores. Estos antecedentes nos garantizan que efectivamente esta estrategia de la macro rueda es exitosa donde seguramente se van a lograr unos resultados importantes para dinamizar la actividad comercial, facilitar la formalización de las empresas y por ultimo, es un vehículo que nos permite fortalecer las micro, medianas y grandes empresas”, afirmó René Arcos, asesor del programa presidencial para el desarrollo de la población afrodescendientes, negra, palenquera y raizal.Los empresarios afrodescendientes interesados en participar en la macro rueda deben inscribirse en la página web www.yocomprocolombiana.com y diligenciar el formulario, para ello debe cumplir con los siguientes requisitos:
